Project Manager – ITIL Implementation
LOCATION: NYC
TYPE: 1099 Independent Contractor, Full Time
TRAVEL: Melville, NY
START DATE: Immediately

This position will support the client’s Program Manager for the Performance Improvement Initiative which entails implementing ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library) best practices across seven distinct Service Delivery groups in the Information Systems division. The position reports to the Director of the Project Planning Office (PPO) of a leading multi-national firm. The PPO ensures that corporate project management standards are utilized throughout the project life cycle.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain additional ITIL experience, which is gaining recognition among the largest firms as an effective way to improve IT operations and service delivery.

Work location will be NYC and Melville, NY.

Responsibilities
• Utilize PMI standards to assist PM with all phases of project management
• Ensure project team follows PMI standards
• For each of seven sub-projects support the department PM’s for all PMI project management functions
• Schedule Development and Maintenance
• Manage Project and Budget control functions
• Project Communications & Reporting
• Issues Management
• Assist with Project Execution

Skills and Experience
1. A solid understanding of project management principles. Candidate must demonstrate his/her approach to project schedule, scope, and budget development
2. Flexibility and desire to understand and thrive within the client’s organization and culture
3. 5 years experience managing medium to large projects
4. 5 years experience in a Fortune 500 company managing IT Services and/or projects
5. Experience with ITIL and/or IT Support process improvement initiatives
6. PMP designation desirable
7. ITIL Foundations certificate desirable
8. Excellent written and oral communications skills
9. Proficient in MS-Project. Experience with MS-Project Server required.

Project Manager – Data Center Modernization Initiative

This position will support the client’s Project Manager responsible for implementing a Strategic Modernization Program for Corporate Data Centers. The position reports to the Director of the Project Planning Office (PPO) of a leading multi-national firm. The PPO ensures that corporate project management standards are utilized throughout the project life cycle.
