We have a Microsoft Volume License. As such, every so often, we get a huge batch of discs from them. Only a small proportion of this software is actually in active use within the organisation.
Should *all* of this software be stored in the DSL, "just in case" we need to use some of it? Or is it acceptable to simply keep it in storage, and add it to the DSL as and when we receive a request for a particular product?

The DSL should hold only the "active" software currently linked to configuration items. When new software needs to be added, it will be added to the DSL before being deployed by CM.
