I'm new to these forums and ITIL in general...so I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask something like this. But I'm happy having found a community discussing ITIL.
Well, I'm a Swiss Student and at the moment I'm working on my Bachelor Thesis in Information Management. As subject I decided to make a IT-service evaluation of a online-job-platform company in Zurich. They want to have me evaluate if ITIL v3 could be appliable to their IT services.
Now I'm still in the prepration phase and getting the general knowledge of ITIL. I have the whole v3 books at my disposal so thats a good base to start.
Now while reading those books and doing some research on the net I found out that besides those books there's the so called "complementary guidance" for ITIL v3.
Does anybody here now where I could get more info about this? Is it even released? It looks very promising with best practice examples of v3 designed IT services or processes. Personally I don't have much of practice experience, so this guidance could probably help me in getting a little overview of ITIL v3 success stories. Or am I completely wrong with my picture of this guidance?
Thanks for any helping info on this complementary guidance!

Actually, TSO (OGC) releases more than 'only' the 5 lifecycle orriented books on ITIL. If you check the TSO website, you'll find a series of pocketbooks on topics such as guides on different lifecycle-phases, small scale implementation etc.
Also: itSMF has releases a series of books on best practices such as ITIL, check out the bookshop from itsmf international.
Finally, consultancy companies such as my own employer have released whitepapers, books and articles on various subjects relating to service & performance management.
