Does anyone know how much the market rate is for ITIL professionals in Singapore?
Thanks. |

what the market will bear
Basic economics
best place to look is the adverts in singapore for roles on line adverts like job serve etc
rather than here
we arent employment agencies... we(some) are consultants contractors and employees of companys...
i think the golden rule about how much money one makes is silence _________________ John Hardesty

I think that the question was a reasonable one and you're being condescending in your reply. It discourages people from posting here if you constantly urinate on people's questions and always strive to big-note yourself.
I'd have expected more from a "Senior ITILer".
If you don't have a helpful answer perhaps it is better to keep your mouth shut. |

TomOZItil
Instead of engaging ones brain and using the internet - which hey has more information available than we do about jobs and job roles, posters seem to think that this forum has answers that can easily be answered by merely doing a simple search in yahoo google or what
yes i am condescending, sarcastic and mean - especialy when people 'take the piss' by being what I call brain lazy - people dont engage brain and expect the forum to provide information when they are too lazy to get it them selves and the information is relative easy to get
If some one can log on to a forum, I am sure that they have the relative skills to conduct a search in a browser ? How did the find this web site / forum ?
I doubt that they typed Mean condescending post UKVIKING ITIL
Merely typing in a seach engine jobs itil singapore yielded lots of links. It took 20 seconds to open a browser window, type it in and hit search.
I went to one of the sites and found over 2000 jobs for singapore itil change management
As to my answer, 'what the market will bear' is the accurate answer
In a job climate where a job or skill set is high desired, the money offered is high. in a job climate where this job or skill set is not desired very few roles are out there
For example - RPG programmers are not highly sought after
ITIL foundation, practitioner, Manager's and Experts are
so are PRINCE2, PMP, CCIEs etc
why because there are so few of them in some regions compared to the jobs available
it is economics 101 - supply and demand _________________ John Hardesty

Twas a bit of a mean response. A person could look on Jobserve and see contracts with a wide range of rates but from speaking to contracting colleague I know that someone with my skillset in my part of the world should probably look for something around £400-£500 per day (more if I can get it).
I would have thought that a site where contractors/concultants regularly post would be the ideal place to broach the question.
Go on, kiss and make up. |

BorisBear,
What response was a mean one ?
My initial response to johnb ? I did not think so and I stated my reasons. in my followup to TomOZITIL.
that was way back in May 2008. It is now November 2008. Six months have gone by w/o any response from JohnB
Asking such a general question on this forum is liking walking into a Sports bar and asking 'what ya watching' instead of 'who's playing'
The former willl get cold stares as people will think ' what a ./...'
The latter will get 'Team X playing Team Y'
The latter also signifies that the the person realizes there is a sports game on in a sports bar but does not recognise the teams playing
while the former indicates (rightly or wrongly) that the person does not realize people watch sports in a sports bar. _________________ John Hardesty

NOTE:
I have done both questions before.
Meaning the latter while stating the former.....
After realizing the idiocy of the first question, I started using the second question.
I did this usually because mouth engaged before brain.
and brain was in neutral _________________ John Hardesty

If you have an ITIL question that you would like to present on this ITIL forum. You had better ask UKVIKING first to see if it meets with his approval. |
