I'm looking to implement an IT Survey asking questions about IT performance etc. I was looking for ideas relating to the questions I should ask.
Can anybody recommend resources for this? |

You would ask the questions that you want answered
in other words
if you want to know about how the IT department is doing
ask questions about that _________________ John Hardesty

Yes I think I'd probably ask them about IT... It would be interesting to find out if people think dogs have accents, but my hunch is to ask about IT. Ahem.

Surely Highland terriers have Scottish accents? |

What ever you do, don't put Yorkshire Terriers on the Service Desk - no one would be able to understand them (see Speak Proper thread)

which of the following accents sounds the best from the service desk
Highland brogue
Scouse
Geordie
New York accent (American)
California Valley Girl (fer sure)
New England Accent (Boston )
French accented english
Southern Accent (Georgia)
German accented english
Chinese accented english
Scandinavian accented english (danish - use rocks; swedes - have ABBA in background, norwegian - fish in background) _________________ John Hardesty

Did you mean terriers in the highlands? I don't believe there are restrictions on movement for highland terriers and I would expect second generation terriers in London to be as clear as UJ. Or at least clear to UJ. _________________ "Method goes far to prevent trouble in business: for it makes the task easy, hinders confusion, saves abundance of time, and instructs those that have business depending, both what to do and what to hope."

.....
shall we take a survey to decide what we think he is think ing about us
and I have a new product to shill
it is the cat / dog translator
I can for a fee translate any cat speech into dog speech and vice versa
except for geordies _________________ John Hardesty

However ... you are all being cruel.
To answer the question fairly, I would say:
You don't need ideas from anywhere. What you have to do is sit down and work out what would be useful to know (say, to improve your service); then work out what of this it is possible to know; then formulate questions that will unambiguously elicit meaningful responses (that is the hardest part); then identify who it is appropriate and possible to ask; then persuade these people to respond; then ...
Well it's obvious; isn't it? That's probably why no one has said it yet. I just like writing a lot. _________________ "Method goes far to prevent trouble in business: for it makes the task easy, hinders confusion, saves abundance of time, and instructs those that have business depending, both what to do and what to hope."

Viking - build that translator, I think you're onto something there!
Diarmid - I have just checked and there are no EU restrictions on dogs working in other countries.
Having said that I'm not having any che-wah-wahs (can't spell it and refusing to look it up) on my Service Desk. They're notoriously lazy and are known to steal pens and staplers.
Have I just been racist about a dog? Is that a first?

I'm pretty sure that che-wah-wahs would need a visum anyway... |

I would not have the chihuahuas working on my desk either
They keep saying
'Badges.. we dont need no stinking badges ....'
when I tell them to put their work badges (IDs) _________________ John Hardesty
