Hello All!
I am going to get my foundation cert. and eventually incid./prob management. My company wants me to do some research and create a title for a new position that they would like me to undertake within the incident/ problem management field. This is new to my company but I am VERY excited to be able to take up this type of position.
My question is: What type of positions can you have with a Incident/ Problem Management Cert.? Salary? Outlook for career advancement if I should look for work outside of my current company within a few years?
We are an IT company that serves a healthcare company that owns two hospitals, and over 78 other locations. 6000 users+

Question: should you derive the job role from the job title or the job title from the job role?
Answer: yes, but preferably the second.
As to your other questions:
Practically any IT service role benefits from knowledge of incident and problem management, including Quality Manager (if anyone ever wants one).
Salary much more depends on scale scope and responsibility ... and industry sector and the luck of the draw. than on this kind of qualification. In some organizations you might get a little bump up for the certificate, but doing a job your employer considers important is a better bet.
