Work permits and stuff for the EU ?

I have British Passport, do I have to worry about work permits and stuff in the EU.
I may have a road trip soon doing stuff in the EU.
I know there are variants in British passports, I have the right of abode deal. Which I believe has all the rights and privileges of a British citizen.

A citizen of any of the EU countries is suppose to be able to work in any of the EU countries.

That is the theory.

The reality is that france and germany are very protective concerning jobs and some of the newer EU countries people do still have limitations


As I am an American, I have residency permit in the UK. I can work in the UK

It does not apply to the rest of europe

The only issue i know is taxes

Taxes would be paid in the US .
I doubt I would spend more than 2 or 3 days in location.
I have green card and I have lived in the US for nearly 30 years. I only hold a British passport.

I think coming over on for a couple of days to do some work for a few days is treated a little different

I know when I worked for a US centric company, people would come from the UK to do work for several weeks and go back and then come back.

That I think is a little different than working in the netherland for 6 months on a contract.

From what I have gleaned (not confirmed) that there is a clock for paying local taxes in the EU and if you pass the clock time, you have to pay the local country tax and the home country as well

If you are over here for 2 - 3 days.. it is a little different I think.. but if you are concerned, check with one of the major tax firms or look on line - most eu countries have info - as does that contractor uk website

As for me, as I am a yank in john bull land, I have to pay tax to the US and the UK. but the first $80000 for the US is tax exempt. At the current exchange rate, that is roughly 40000 GBP

I will have my leagle beagle write clause that the pimp is responsible for any tax, fees etc required outside the US.
