Hi,
I read in a previous topic that if we report a difference between the CIs in the CMDB and the CIs in the real world (CIs out of sync), we should go by the change management process to correct the situation...
In my enterprise, they planed to open an incident for that kind of event...
My point of view is : if the analyse of the report states that the error is caused by a bad evaluation of the data (the system that compares data from the field and data in the CMDB), we should open an incident for that system and that incident will finaly bring us to a change to correct the system...
Else, we only have to correct the data in the CMDB with the good one (do we need to go by a change process to modify data in the CMDB???)
