Configuration Process

We have a change process and configuration management plan and I would like to map out at very much a high level, like a workflow diagram, a configuration management process.
Does anyone have any diagrams or can they point me to any industry documentation which shows a typical configuration process as I have never seen one? I have read all the ITIL literature, studied all the change, release and config exams but I have not see what a configuration process looks like.

that is rather strange

the Config process is in the ITIL v2 books in the section for Configruation management

There are 5 basic steps in Configuration mgmt

Planning
Identification
Classification
Status Accounting
Verification

I would do the following

Read the ITIL manuals V2 or v3 concerning Config mgmt

The diagrams in the books show the process quite well

and define what you mean by not configuration process looks
