Why?
Can you not go and buy the books - even the little book from the itsmf chapter in india
It is nto that expenses
Why ?
this is NOT a training forum ?
Go take course / training from a training company
and welcome to the forum
Once you have taken the time to learn about ITIL, come back and ask questions _________________ John Hardesty

yes. I know that
The thing is... what presentation
I have presentations on ITIL for my customers. This is Intellectual property shared betwenn my customers and myself.
I have received presentations from Training companys, itSMF, the British Computer Society and others organizations as well as documents - PDFs, books, etc about ITIL. These came from these organization as part of courses / services that are provided because I paid for them
I am not a trainer in ITIL. I am a practitioner of implementing ITIL.
If I was a trainer, my presentations are my Intellectual property and I charge for them
If you are looking - as I expect - introductory material on ITIL, I recommend that you use the feature in the Internet known as Search and search for the following
itSMF - IT Service Management Forum. This site (country oriented) has information about ITIL - some of it for free
BCS - British Computer Society - link about Certification and ISEB
ISEB / EXIN - testing bodies for the certification programs
ISACA - association for IT goverance (CoBIT)
OGC - UK Government site where ITIL is located
If you are interested in learning about ITIL on your own before going to a course, this is where you should go. While this site is about ITIL, the understanding is that the people on the forum (Me at least) are not here to be teaching you about ITIL but instead help you understand better once you are trying to implement or use ITIL _________________ John Hardesty

Yes sir,
You are very much right. I was unaware about the fourm is meant only for having a discussion on problems that come across while implementing or sustainance of ITIL.
Sorry for the discomfort caused.
Thanks & regards |

Do you mean this kind of question? Or John's admirable responses? (I don't know how he keeps it up.) |

Unfortunately not....although it has given me an idea for a sitcom where UKVIKING is a humble service manager and kunalnigam is his overly demanding manager. |

That sounds great
sounds like the Office crossed by Red Dwarf - I am a cross between KRYTON and the Cat.
Smart mouth and knowledge
The only thing.
I have never been humble in my life.
and of course if he was my manager, I would a) find a new job or b) get transfered rather quicly.
And as to answer JoePearson, Diarmid concerns.... I hop on the site to clear my head.... Crazy Ivan (movie / book reference) and when I see a chance to bite,. bark and snarl... I jump at the chance because it is therapeutic - for me.. not for my victim _________________ John Hardesty

UK,
just so long as you are not Crazy Eddie (book reference).
UK Viking as the Uriah Heep of service management!!!!! _________________ "Method goes far to prevent trouble in business: for it makes the task easy, hinders confusion, saves abundance of time, and instructs those that have business depending, both what to do and what to hope."

Hmmm ... I feel I have to speak up here. I know I don't post often (something which I hope to rectify now I have passed my Foundation course), but I have something to say here.
ITIL is now international. Please remember that when speaking to people whose first language is plainly not English. On many other forums I encounter people who speak all manner of languages and what they write in English should often not be taken literally.
This fellow has been courteous in his responses and I believe that he was not actually asking for "presentations", but for a summary overview - maybe one of the process model diagrams I have seen would be a good start for the fellow?
As stated, such models are often the intellectual property of some consulting or training company but surely there's something we can point the fellow to?
I know when I started reading into ITIL I found a few such models on the internet and one which I found very useful indeed.
....
I hope that helps, Nigam.

First read the FAQ.. do not post URLs.
Second he did ask for presentations from the forum instead of doing what you did... use the internet as a search tool and find things
yes ITIL is becoming international but so is laziness and the expectation that TANSTAAFL does not apply.
If he had asked where he could have gotten some presentations on ITIL as he did not know where to go, I would have posted the information about ISACA, itSMF, BCS w/o snarkiness. but.. he did not.
Intellectual Property, Copyrights etc have a place internationally - regardless of whether the countries that do not place a high level of responsibility to honor etc the IP rights or the IP process
Individuals should also value IP rights. I do for my musics, books and information that is IP linked.
Printing out book section or sending copies of IP linked presentations is not something I care to do nor do I wish to encourage
It does not take a whole lot to do searches and write their own presentation - I dont know the audience that will view the presentations. _________________ John Hardesty

Aside...

Where is that documented, John? I see a FAQ linked under Modules; only talks about ITIL not this board; and 'Forum FAQ' at the top of the forum area; only covers phpbb generics. |
