Hello,
I am from the Netherlands and I want to do an ITIL training. I looked at a lot of adverts in magazines and on the internet. The best I could find is on [Link ad removed by admin]. It's a two day ITIL v2 training for freelancers and it costs 850 euro.
My questions are:
What are the average prices in England
Do you think the ITIL training is better in England ( I have family in England) |

dont know
what level of training ?
Foundation..etc
Each training company has its own prices
foxit, xpertise, pink elephant.... are 3 companies that do training
now there courses are in pounds not euros and the
check them out is my suggestion
the courses in the Uk are offered by authorized training companies - who have to pass criteria by the APMG standards board for the training companies to be able to do the course _________________ John Hardesty

The cost of a foundation training sessions depends on the number of attendees (i.e. from 400 to 3300 euros). |

I dont think if I take a class at a training centre, the price goes up or down depending on the # of students in the class
As for a company presenting a course
the course has a fixed cost - if they use an external trainer (most do) and a varible cost per seat. Usually a foundation class has 10 - 12 students
The cost usually is based on a daily rate. So that a 2 day class is less than a 5 day class but a 3 day class is more than a 2 day class _________________ John Hardesty

Hi Viking,
As you said, the course has a fixed cost and a variable cost per seat.
So we can say that the cost per student depends on the number of attendees.
Of course, usually a foundation class has 10 - 12 students, so the variation is not very big.
Each training company is free to have its own policy |

If i go to Fox IT to take a course, I pay the cost .. say £850 for a 3 day course
This is regardless of whether there are 1 students or 20 students
the training company can opt to reschedule the class if there are not enough students for the class (usually a minimum number) and either refund my money or put me in a future class
what they DONT do is raise /lower the price depending on the number of students ... they may discount the course if they are trying to fill a last minute course _________________ John Hardesty

I understand.
My experience is more about the french market.
We don't have some much students or companies interested in ITIL as in the UK or the Netherlands, so we often have to organize specific training sessions for 7 or 11 or 14 attendees, that why the price can change. |

@Itilstudent1980
You could also do the training in Frankfurt, Germany or in Donaueschingen as a two block 8 day all-inclusive intensive course. The course is in german but all books, flipcharts and exams are in english. |

HI...
I am new to this forum.
I wanted to know whether it is necesary to have an Accredited ITIL training before appearing for the certification exam?
Can I take training from some institute which is not accredited by any of the EIs, appear for the certification exam, clear it and still claim to be ITIL Certified?
Looking forward for some help
Thanks |

As has been answered here many times.... You do not need to attend an accredited coursew for Foundation, you do for all the other exams. _________________ Liz Gallacher,

This is probably stating the obvious, but private courses are usually cheaper if you have the numbers.
Costs for a private course are typically fixed or variable:
Fixed
Classroom
Trainer costs
Variable
Catering
Courseware (some courses include OGC books, all will include folders provided by the training company)
Exam costs
Travel/accom if necessary
I'd say 6+ students could make a private course pay off... |

I run private courses all the time and on 5-6 students can make a profit, and still save the students money. Every student above 6 reduces the price even further.
To clarify what I said above, although you can sit the Foundation exam after self-study, if you are paying for training ALWAYS go with an Accreditted Training Company for a guarantee of minimum standards in tutor and courseware _________________ Liz Gallacher,
