Trend analysis is as follows
Monday - I wake up. I have coffee. I walk down the road drinking my coffee. I trip over the speed bump. I spill my coffee
Tuesday - I wake up. I have coffee. I walk down the road drinking my coffee. I trip over the speed bump. I spill my coffee
Wednesday - I wake up. I have coffee. I walk down the road drinking my coffee. I trip over the speed bump. I spill my coffee
Thursday - I wake up. I have coffee. I walk down the road drinking my coffee. I trip over the speed bump. I spill my coffee
Friday - - I wake up. I have coffee. I walk down the road drinking my coffee. I trip over the speed bump. I spill my coffee
repeat for six month
I know have enough data to determine there is a trend.
What is the trend
What do you think the phrase trend analysis means
separately the words have a distinct meaning
together the individual words' meaning
Trend analysis is used in the stock market, football betting and all sorts of activity
In addition, you can consider statistics as part of trend analysis _________________ John Hardesty

To paraphrase John:
The purpose of trend analysis is to help you to anticipate the future. So once you have observed an apparent trend (I mistyped that as trent, but I was not intending a river analogy) it becomes useful to you largely in so far as you can understand the cause(s). This goes well beyond just "analysing the data".
Acting on just the trend data can be expensive. _________________ "Method goes far to prevent trouble in business: for it makes the task easy, hinders confusion, saves abundance of time, and instructs those that have business depending, both what to do and what to hope."
