Oh dear, it appears that this community is under attack on Wikipedia. It seems that 'non-open' forces don't want us around:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Information_Technology_Infrastructure_Library#RFC:_Link_to_itilcommunity.com
If you scroll up, it is quite nasty, with Bgirl fighting a corner for us against some pretty determined people. The second ballot because the first failed to get rid of our link is a classic.
We are free, we are not official, we are open, and we have some fantastic members, and more valuable ITIL content in these forums than anywhere else I have seen.
Yet to some, we appear to be a threat. I wonder if it is the same people who post those commercial links, which we have to delete every day? Or maybe it is that collectively we are an alternative representative body? Or what?
I can't imagine. But efforts to hide the existence of a group of thousands of ITIL professionals is as suspect as it is sad.
Wikipedia, eh?

Does it matter is there isn't a link to here in Wikipedia?
I wouldn't think so.
I didn't find it that way _________________ DYbeach

I agree with DY - So what!
I also did not use Wikipedia to find this site.
I also know that the site in question has an issue with being used by vicious people to mount personal attacks on others apparently for no other reason than that it is possible.
If it were the itSMF or BCS I would be far more concerned. _________________ Regards

Yup,
Agree with both of you. I think most users find this website through google.. Typing ITIL Forums few years ago has done it for me. As you mentioned, its most probably one of those spammers or commercial users. |

It isn't the link that matters, as even if we had links on here, we would never link to a skewed article like that on Wikipedia in any case.
It's the staggering affront of people there who so clearly have vested interest in hiding open and free centers of expertise. The obvious determination to hide this place is as hard to comprehend as it is sad.

This site has over 24,000 registered users, all contributing free of charge and that is what's important.
It is a fantastic example of a global community that is working well _________________ DYbeach
