Hello,
Some of you may have seen my post in the general section. If not please take a look. I need your help!
I am seeking a new challenge and vacancy in the North of the U.K. Can anyone recommend any agencies who specialise in IT Service Management vacancies?
After graduating 3 years ago i embarked on my quest up the career ladder as a Junior Support Desk Analyst for a company working on an ISO2000 accreditation.
The process was in its infancy stages and initial assessments were taking place. Although largely employed in technical capacity, i was expected to incident and problem management my relevant workloads and take on bits of project work as when it became available.
After my employer and company service delivery manager became aware of my interest and acedemic understanding in ITIL i was asked to help evaluate our weaknesses and action plan out way forward. I took sole responsibility and 2 major areas of ITIL, made it ISO 20000 compliant and earned praise from the external auditors in establishing two of our stronger areas. We passed and got the accreditation first time of asking.
Two promotions see me now leading a small team of Service Desk Engineers on a major 8 year project, aswell as continuing my ownership of aforementioned ITIL areas.
I feel i am in a strong position to provide significant benefits to a company looking for a Service Desk Team Leader/Junior Service Delivery Manager role.
If anyone is aware of any such roles, please do get in touch with me.
Wow, you have got good chances to learn things. Appreciate that you lead a team. Why don you try in any job sites to find a job you look for. I can see that you have less years of experience but for right candidates role is not an issue.
Hi Vimprash and yes the experience will surely be invaluable.
I have searched a number of job-sites. As many as i can think of really, but i wouldnt say there were an adundance of opportunities available. I thought i was perhaps looking in the wrong places.
There doesnt seem to be a great deal of TL positions available with companies and many seem to require a technical background. I want to bridge the gap between my current level and that of a service delivery manager with a company who will provide the opportunities to build on my current experience and perhaps provide suitable opening in due course.
As a member has pointed out in another area of the forum, networking at seminars etc may be my best route for me to seek out potential opportunities.
I have heard from a friend who works in recruitment (albeit not IT recruitment specifically), that to cut costs many organisations have stopped recruiting through agencies / generic websites, and instead have started / re-started recruiting directly through their own websites.
Have you tried approaching organisations direct to find what opportunities they have?
