Probably the most often asked question in the last year was:

"How long is ITIL®v2 exams going to be offered?"

The following has officially been decided:

The ITIL v2 exams will be retired product-based. I.e. all linguistic variations of the exams (e.g., ITIL v2 foundation in in German, in English, in Spanish or in French) and the accompanied publications will be taken off the market at the same time.

ITIL v2 will be retired to the 30th of June 2011. The specific products are taken by the following dates off the market:
- V2 foundation the 30th of June, 2010
- V2 service manager 31st of August, 2010
- V2 Practitioner 31st of December, 2010
- Foundation bridge 31st of December, 2010
- Manager bridge 30th of June, 2011

People who have failed the V2 foundation, V2 service manager, V2 Practitioner and foundation bridge will have the chance to redo the exams until the 30th of June, 2011. The publications Services Support and Service Delivery will be taken off the market on the 30th of June, 2011. All other complementary publications will be taken off the market at the latest 30th of June, 2011.
