I can't remember them from when I registered, and been unable to find them now when searching......
The reason for the search being as a result of recent activity on the forum I came to thinking that it could be a beneficial idea to follow the example of other forums where they have the specific posting rules.
Such as: All users must post an introduction giving some details about their experience, qualifications, subject interests etc prior to any other posts.
Also this would prevent the few spammers from bothering with their advertising.
The short 'to the point' messages recently posted - including my own - are done out of frustration of the OP not showing any effort on their own behalf & expecting the answers on a silver plate. This is not accepted on other forums either, however, responses are usually to make a search.
So what do you think? Or do we forget Continual Improvement as it's not a process in ITIL v2, so should we bother? |

I follow a much simpler rule - don't reply to posts that don't sit well with you.
But I don't want to restrict new folks from posting lazy questions expecting answers on a silver plate because I enjoy John's snarly responses way too much to give up on them |

The community itself is at liberty to define rules. We may need a mod team though to help police them.
The main issue we tend to encounter is link spam, and advertising. These are a menace, and require deletions every day.
We tend to leave the lazy to be dealt with in the way which has evolved on here... which is basically what they deserve. |

Fair enough........I'm quiet happy with the current approach
If you need mods, I'd volunteer......& only charge 50% normal consulting rates. |

I nominate UKViking........
Imagine the first impression on a newbie, when John descends on them with his arsenal
Joking apart, strict moderation would keep this forum relevant and a great idea-exchange forum that it already is. |

What about a small "portrait" right below your name as a kind of "ITIL profile"?
Perhaps:
achieved certs
years in IT and ITIL
current position
consultant or not? (my personal interest)
4 or 5 small but mandatory hints and if someone writes "20 years in IT and 5 years ITI" and he wants to know what a problem is or who raises a change ... well, there's a UKVIKING we all know ...

Thx,
And what about a "newbie" section for all those who are interested but clueless in which threads can be "pushed". Maybe to much effort for the admin ...
Like this kind of brainstorming |

It seems his arsenal is much smaller than it used to be
Looks like there are more than enough mod squad volunteers, but I'm also happy to help _________________ DYbeach

I think we all do the moderatoring here for the forums
We call the admin when required
we (me first usually) berate the idiotic post not the poster
we have a cheering section and a condolence section
i think the regulars here all want the forum to be useful _________________ John Hardesty
