Go to your manager and tell him you have no clue as what to do in order to complete your task
This way he/ she can assign you work that you are capable of. You obviously are out of your depth here.
I am on the tail end of my career. I have spent 20+years in IT
You have to be able to think, experiment, etc in order to be good at IT and advance in IT. If simple things like writing templates is beyond your body of knowledge, how are you going to deal with difficult things
Now, a few lessons as well
1 - a template is a fancy word for a form that is to be filled out. Blank job applications, bank deposit slips, etc are examples of a template. Each one has its purposes
2 - most applications allow you to create customized documents (templates) that you can use. Major s/w houses - microsoft - have books, web sites, etc on how to do things. In this, search engines are your friend
3 - failure to do things is not a bad thing. Admitting you dont understand is not a bad thing. Not asking for help in the right area is a bad thing. Expecting a free handout because you are too lazy or dont know how to do a thing is a bad thing - especially if you are going to tout it as your idea
Go to your boss, tell him you dont know what to do .. even better go to your co-workers - surely they may be able to help
And finally, this site is NOT a GIMME site.. gimme a template gimme all the answers.
This is a site for ITIL and to discuss ITIL and all areas by people who are DOING work and want to hash out issues / concerns etc.

if your manager keeps asking you to do things you have difficulty with, I would recommend you get a new manager.
