ITIL :: View topic - Several instances of the same CI

Hi!
I'm having the following doubt: when selecting my CIs (to include in the CMDB) I have a CI that is a physical object. I have 3 of those objects exactly equal.
Should I consider 3 CIs with the same attributes or only 1 CI?
In the case of considering 3, what type of relationship between them do you suggest I register?
thanks in advance, Mariana
1. If there are 3 pieces of h/w with the same name
Answer - have those 3 things renamed correctly and individually
2. If the datacollection/discovery sw is creating 3 CIs with the same name from 1 piece of h/w
Answer - Fix the datacollection/discovery sw or negate 2 of the CIs from the CMDB.
The problems duplication causes are confusion for the user, problems/inc/changes being related to different CIs which makes MIS much more difficult.
