Saraatieh

Hmmm. So you were able to google and find this site - which is a user community - but are unable to find the official site for ITIL ?

Try again. Your questions are answered there

Use the terms ITIL AXELOS Official site

No.

For one, this forum does not allow Links

for two, I gave you the terms to use with a search engine which will give you the links which will include the official site

Finally, it is in YOUR Interest not mine to know this. therefore, you should be learning how to do your own search rather than asking other people to do that for you. So if you are truly interested in ITIL, you should do your own research and your own work

Seriously, if you can't find the official ITIL site you are going to struggle to ever hold a job down that involves even the mildest hint of managerial responsibilities. I found it within 10 seconds of seeing this thread and I'm happy to say I left School without a single GCSE.

Come on....initiative and common sense!

Hi saraatieh,

You can learn a lot from online materials. Go to YouTube and search the following:
"ITIL Overview 2011 Edition pinkertube"

In the video, Jack Probst offers one of the best basic explanations of ITSM that I have seen. (... and no, I am not affiliated with Pink Elephant)

Your next stop in terms of formal ITIL education is ITIL Foundation level.

From the AXELOS official site: "The Foundation Level is the entry level qualification which offers candidates a general awareness of the key elements, concepts and terminology used in the ITIL Service Lifecycle, including the linkages between Lifecycle stages, the processes used and their contribution to Service Management practices."

Good luck!

Jack

Buy a good book on the subject. I found the ITIL Foundation guide by Ernest Brewster a decent enough read. Reading through that, doing some online research and taking notes was enough to see me through the foundation exam last week.

Some have called the Foundation Exam 'easy'. Maybe relative to the more advanced modules. You still need to put some hours in and ensure you have a good understanding of the principles of ITIL before you take the exam.

Some on another forum told me to simply 'braindump' this exam. Don't see the point. You may pass the exam but will learn nothing. And if you want to move onto the more advanced stages, you surely need a genuine knowledge than a cheated exam pass.
