Hello,

I'm starting get familiar with ITIL.
I want to know, where the initial installation of a software is described?

I guess, the matching role is the IT-Operator - but he's assigned to the Service Operation.
But the initial installation is in my opinion more a thing for Service Transition than Service Operate.

I took a look to the Request Fulfilment - but this is also Service Operate.

Who can tell me where I've to read further?

HamJe,

You are obvious not reading enough about ITIL. ITIL is about IT service management - as processes

The installation of software explicitly is not of concern to ITIL beyond the process of Release, Change and Configuration.

You are concentrating in the wrong area.

Read at least the wiki on Wikipedia.de about ITIL as a synopsis about ITIL

Release Management is also part of ITIL - I wanna simply think in more than one direction.

Please go read up on ITIL - Wikipedia does an ok explanation.

ITIL is for the entire process of managing IT assets

from the concept phase to the project phase
to the development / build phase to the delivery phase
to the support & operation phase
to the upgrades and installations of new services, applications, s/w, f/w and h/w to the actions or non actions done by various people
to the ability to make people change what they are or not doing and to make sure the customer gets what they ask for
