BAE Systems is hiring a SharePoint, Office 365 and Azure Product Owner in Farnborough, UK

Would you like to develop your career outside of the confinements of a traditional path by focusing on what you’re passionate about? We currently have an exciting opportunity available for a Product Owner to join us within Enterprise IT Services (EITS) at our site in Farnborough.

As the SharePoint, Office 365 and Azure Product Owner, you will help nurture environments where high communication, constant collaboration and good judgement results in a high quality service that continuously adapts to meet the needs of the business, the users and our changing environment.

You will be the public face of SharePoint, Office 365 and Azure Services within the organisation. It will be down to you to work with a diverse range of global and local customers, businesses and departments within BAE Systems, consumers and suppliers to build a pipeline and to translate this into a set of requirements, or stories, for the team to build and support. You will be fully accountable for the delivered product and will take responsibility for its roadmap, integrity, service performance and its exploitation.

Your main responsibilities as a Product Owner will involve:

Attending conferences and seminars relating to your product, its roadmap and how other customers are transforming their environment with existing and new features

Writing blogs, articles and actively participating in online discussions and forums – sharing how great your product is, how it works and how you and the team are continuously growing and developing yourselves and the product

Mentoring and coaching colleagues within BAE Systems and influencing customers about the right way to build and use SharePoint, Office 365 and Azure

Developing strategies to encourage user adoption, increasing user satisfaction, embedding a sense of excitement in the business with SharePoint, Office 365 and Azure Services

Detecting business opportunities where SharePoint, Office 365 and Azure Services can be leveraged, and passing these requirements via project and service change requests for approval by a service change board

Establishing a monthly Governance Forum consisting of business and IT stakeholders for SharePoint and Office 365 service and a governance board for Azure Services

Establishing and running Communities of Practice to help everyone share good practices and get the best out of the service

Providing on-going research into the technology to stay up to date with trends and best practices, updating the roadmap and regularly communicating it into the SharePoint, Office 365 and Azure Service team

Your skills and qualifications as a Product Owner will ideally include:

• In-depth understanding and proven track record using SharePoint, Office 365 and Azure product feature set to understand, support and work with Solution Owner and technical delivery teams is essential
• Strong IT literacy, including Microsoft Office skills is essential
• Experience of implementing and executing under ITIL process framework in an environment certified to ISO 20000 standards would be advantageous
• Experience in using Agile project management processes is desirable
• Experience in system architecture, design, development and support of cloud services
• Language skills in Arabic would be an advantage

You will be organised and self-motivated with the ability to pay close attention to detail. You will have excellent presentation skills and will be able to communicate information clearly and concisely to others. You will be approachable and will have excellent interpersonal skills.
