Hi
I'm finding it hard to find out exactly what versions of what are about. What is the latest edition of the ITIL books/CD ROMS? I mainly need to know this because if I buy an old set of books or version 1 of the CDs - will they be ok to study from for the certification?
Also I know v3 is coming soon - is it really worth me getting a foundation certification now?

If you go to the OGCs own web site it will be pretty clear what the latest versions are. The ISBN numbers are there so even if you have to buy locally well you can be sure you get the right ones.
The ITIL certification does not have a shelf life. There is no 'expirery' at any level and no requirement to refresh, it's a 'lifetime acheivement'. Also fondation level knowledge is fairly general and , well 'foundational' and won't be heaviliy affected by the V3 release. From what I understand and have heard the biggest changes in V3 will be in the Red Book and really change things at the practitioner and manager (masters) levels. There is no real economic or educational reason to hold off.
