Hi,

Can somebody guide me if it is possible to take the Manager Certification exam where you can use a computer for the writing the exam instead of pen & paper?

Also what is the cost of the training & the certification for the manager Certification?

Thanks
Anuj

No, it is not possible to sit the exam in anyway other than hand-writing it (unless you had a disability which made this impossible, when they might be able to make a special arrangement).

The costs of training will vary according to where you are in the world. For the 2 five day courses and a revision day and the 2 exams, the cost in the UK is about 3,700. This is expensive, and the exam is hard (only 55% pass both papers at the same sitting) but it is worth it. It is a serious commitment of time and money, but equips you with the knowledge to implement any aspect of ITIL. Go for it!

Hi,

I see that Larry has already answered your questions. As for using a computer instead of writing on a paper you can indeed check with the organization that did provide you with the training. They can allow you to use a computer instead of paper for the exam but my understanding is that they need to make the request to EXIN.
Anyway this is possible.

Regards.

I would check this, as I know the ISEB Managers exam cannot be done on a PC (and I am on the Examiners panel). EXIN may be different, but I would be surprised. Unlike the Foundation, which is arranged on demand, the Manager's exam is quarterly, with hundreds sitting it. The logistics of having that number of "clean" PCs, tied down so no-one could use a memorystick, would be enormously expensive.
