We have some interpretation issues at my location. Some believe that there are 2 types of changes - Basic or Standard. A Basic change is one that has never been done before and lacks established procedures and documentation. A Standard change is one which is well known and has established procedures and documentation. Is this the right understanding? In the Service Support reference, I am looking at Figures 8.3a, 8.3b and 8.4. Appreciate your opinion!

In addition, a standard change is a pre-approved change, it doesn't have to go through the change manager, or cab, or Emergency committee for approval before execution.


I do not know what a basic change is Sad

Ziad,

Basic change is nothing but Basic Change Management Procedures.

In other words it states all the stages involved in a Change Management Process.

So for clarity - when I receive a change request, do I determine that it is either a Basic Change or it is a Standard Change?
