We are currently looking to replace Numara's TrackIT for our help desk software and would prefer an ITIL based system that lets us pick and choose what we want to use. We are going toward MS SMS and do not need the functionality of remote control and asset management. I would prefer something with SD through Change Management. Does anyone have anything of interest for me?

Hello Bwery,
I guess I don't understand if you're saying that you want something that is specifically a ".NET" based tool or if you're saying that you're a ".NET" based shop, etc. Could you please clarify?
As far as using any SD tool, the technology platform it's built on shouldn't impact the platform you build and run your tools on. For example, we use Java/J2EE as the baseline for implementing our platform but expose our APIs through various web and HTML services that make it so that any technology platform can interface with it and allowing data transfers through a number of formats, such as CSV, XML, etc. As a result, my suggestion is that you look to tools that do not force you into using a programming language that couples you to them for the long term. You're always better off tying to something that abstracts the technology it was developed in through data interchange APIs that leverage XML and HTML services.
I would also recommend that the tool you select covers as many ITIL disciplines as possible, all being fully pre-integrated and at no additional price. This will minimize the time you spend on trying to build integration solutions to the tool/platform you select, typically saving your enterprise a very significant amount of time, money, and energy.
I hope this helps.
Best Regards,
