1. Keep your sheets on steps for implementation as short as possible.
2. Focus on the business case. How will implementing help the business.
3. Google John P Kotter's steps for sucessfull change (not particular ITIL) and see if this can help you to build your presentation on.

Cheers,

Michiel

If I was in your place I would:

- Set my objectives and clearly communicate them at the very beginning of the presentation. In other words, what do I want to achieve by the end of the presentation.

- Tailor the presentation based on your audience. A C-Level executive doesn't care about details.

- Keep the cost benefits on TOP, and stress on the commitment and awareness importance

- If you want to talk about all the processes and not only about ITIL/ITSM in general, try to make one slide per process (it's extremely difficult I know).. I would rather talk in general about Service Support and Service Delivery as slides subjects

PPT:
I would make the diagram on the cover page of the ITSMF Introductory overview of ITIL my first page after the introduction (while mentioning the source of the diagram). You can refer to it several times during the presentation.

Wednesday is almost here, relax and pin them

Good Luck,
Z!

Thanks for your replies: pls add some more input

Ive created a presentation with the following slides

Title
what is ITIL
Our approach to ITIL
ITIL Implementation Phase (Three phases)
Outcome

This would be more kind of selling ITIL idea to your client. Ive prepared the ppt on that perspective...pls tell what else needs to be added on the presentation.

I'd say, ad the bsuiness perspective (what's in it for them!!!)
So something like:

Title
What is ITIL (necesary to explain)
Business case for ITIL
Your approach to ITIL
Implementation (briefly)
Outcome

just a silly question here

Why are you tasked with doing a 'consultant's presentation' on ITIL when obviously your knowledge of ITIL is limited ?

While the ITIL forums like this one or the itsmf one or the various other places one finds and collects information

What is the expected outcome from this presentation that you are writing ?

If you are part of a consultancy firm trying to sell their services to a client on ITIL, why are you - obviously a new acolyte to ITIL slated with the large task of explaining the ITIL process etc to the client with the focus on trying to get them to pay your firm to implement ITIL.

My first question as the customer would be 'How many staff have the Manager's certificate, Practioners, and Foundation and how long have they been consulting ITIL'

if however, you are working for the customer trying to figure out what you need to do to implement, my puzzlement rests with your mgmt team.

It is like asking a PhD in Engineering to perform heart surgery .

Now that I have asked the obvious and irritated you ... let me tackle the slide show presentation

Intro
What is ITIL
Why use ITIL
Benefits of ITIL
COsts implementing ITIL
Implementing ITIL (Phased approach)
which processes first
Adapting current processes to reflect ITIL
Key milestones
Organization structure vice process structure
same but for roles insteead of structure
why use a consultancy
why use use
question
