Check out the itsmf and british computer society web sites

they would have a lot of information

also in the qualification forum here

as to whether you need it or not... depending on what you want out of IT

Do you want to be a programmer developer for ever or do you want to move up... sideways

Prince2, ITIL, COBIT, ISO20000, ISO270001, etc

all have a place as does

MSF, SDLC etc

Hello CD,

If, by enhance your career, you mean will it help you move up in your organization, there is simply no guarantee that anything you learn will do so. However, learning new things to help you be well-rounded will never hurt, will it? When it comes to the impact of what you learn, on your career, there are no guarantees. Having any quality brand certifications on your resume will always enhance your chances of finding work, should you ever be in a position of looking.

My Best,

Frank
