Dear friends,

Please differentiate different versions in ITIL 1, 2,3

Is the syllabus for foundation exam is different by versions?

i want to get certified in may, exam will be of which version, sud i wait for version 3 exam?

from wherecan i get the most appropriate study material and test?

Hello Saurabh,

The difference between v2 and v3 are too great to note in a short thread. There will be entire new volumes out, soon, that will cover v3. I believe the release date is May 30th.

Also, based on a conversation I had with one of the authors of v3, he recommended that those going for v2 certification continue to do so, as v3 will "not" require recertification. However, this information is not something I recommend you use to change your decisions unless you've thoroughly researched what I'm saying and agree with the information. I do believe that you can find some information right on the ITIL web site. I recommend you start to look there.

Also, look through this forum and the Certification forum for some threads on version 3 as some details/comparisons have been done

ITIL v1 is no more

ITIL v2 - the foundation, practioner and managers course are the standards for now
