In NY, many companies see ITIL incident & problem management experience and/or training as a plus in hiring service desk managers - however, it really doesn't translate into financial forms.

It is also rare to see a IM or PM process head outside of either the service desk manager role or the data center operations manager role...

pmannion,

I see you're in NY. I'm in NJ. If you need any help/info or are just looking for people to share experiences with, please feel free to contact me offline at Frank.Guerino<@>TraverseIT.com. I'll gladly help and there's a pretty big local network of ITILers.

Regards,

Well if someone can please give me some detail regarding the type off work involved here in this field then it would be better for me. I heard some of my distant relative is employed in this profession and is earning a handsome remuneration, and at the same time this work involves expertise. So I am interested to take up a career in this field too.
