ITIL is upgrading.
ISEB and EXIN are replaced by APMG for "the ITIL license" for certification and qualifications. As far as i know right now, ISEB & EXIN are delivering the certifications till 07/2007, but that is still the Version 2.
No information is available about upgrade certifications to Version 3 and/or when V3 trainings and certifications will be available.
So what now... Wait till V3 is available or go for V2 before 07/2007?
I agree it is all rather confusing. Exin and ISEB will continue to ofer exams with V3. APMG are now also offering V2 exams. As the books do not come out for a few weeks and the changes to the exams have not yet been decided, it will be 2008 before V3 courses and exams are out. Training Providers have to read the books, study the new exam syllabus, and write new course material, all of which takes time.
Personally, I think it could be a while before V3 exams settle down, and taining providers knoa, and can therefor teach, what is rally required. So I would say, do not delay training at this point, but go with the tried and trusted coursesand exams, or wait until late 2008, when things will have setled down. _________________ Liz Gallacher,

In a nutshell: The V3 books are being released May 30. The first new foundation level courses/exams will be available the week of June 13. From what I've read, V2 qualifications will still be good. There is, however, discussion about creating an update course to bring those with V2 qualifications up to speed on V3.
