Hello,

Gratz for everyone who passed the ITIL foundation Exam.

I passed my ITIL Exam 4days ago and I have some questions.

1- I need to edit my mailing address so I can get my certificate on it. is there a website like Microsoft to do such a thing?

2- Where should I take it from here? I finished my MCSE certificate now the ITIL foundation. My Boss asked if I can go further with ITIL. I dont want to stop on foundation. I need to take my study further in my extra time. I dont want to go attend classes. My question is. Is there any way to take further ITIL studies & Exams with out attending courses. By studying books or taking classes online. Because i finish work really late and I dont have time to take classes after work.

Many Thanks,

Ali Makahleh

Your FOundation certificate will be sent to the mailing address that you provide to the exam center.

You have to deal with them to get it sent to another address

All other courses are classroom courses. The foundation course is the only 'online' or self study course.

Please look at the thread about costs of training

You should have had the qualifications structure explained as part of your foundation course. In V2 there are Practitioner level exams and the manager level exam(red badge).
There are a number of threads explaining all this.
With V3 the exam structure is different. check out the apmg website

Practical point here

In discussions with a contact at Getronics (A multinational Training Company), it came out that if you go V3 Diploma via taught courses, it takes 18 days (3 at foundation and 3 for each of the 5 modules)

However, if you do V2 Foundation + bridge + Managers + bridge this is only 16 days.

It would be logical to expect costs to be lower as a result.

Regards

Ed

Where to go after foundations is a common question, however let me add a dose of reality. If you have not worked with ITIL much before taking the foundations, wait a bit. Work with ITIL, and the computer industry. If you do not have real world experience, your chances of passing the Service Manager's test are minimal.

We in the IT world are used to the Microsoft "rack 'em and stack 'em" certifications. Not so with ITIL. Remember, knowledge of ITIL is only 50% of a Service Manager test, the rest is implementation and management skills. Just reading books will not get you there.
