I hope someone out there can help me with some advice, here goes:

I am due to leave the Royal Marines soon (could be as soon as July this year, but no later than March '07). I am in the process of getting immigration approval so that I can move with my family to the Vancouver area when I leave the RM. Cutting to the chase, I am looking for work; Ideally in a Management position, but would consider a place on a Project Team and then work my way up from there.

I have over 15 years experience in various IT/IS posts during my 20+yrs career so far. I have been Team Leader on various Military based Projects and have successfully managed teams of up to 30 personnel whilst liaising with various outside agencies to achieve targets well within Project tolerances. I am security cleared to the highest level by the UK MoD and currently working with the development team involved in production of data messaging for the UK Armed Forces' "BOWMAN" project, where I am the lead GUI Developer for messaging, utilising a bespoke development tool produced by General Dynamics. I have experience in training and the use of C2PC - a strategic/tactical battlespace digitisation package developed for the US Military and used by the USMC and the Royal Marines Commandos.

There's also a whole chunk of other experience across wide ranging technologies that I could bring to the table; ranging from user support with MS Office applications, through Network Support roles (MCSE2000 trained), SatComms configuration, Encrypted Portable Device network configuration ... the list is quite long and more detail is available on my Reume/CV.

As an example I have the following relevant qualifications:

ITIL Foundation Cert. PRINCE2 Foundation Cert. HNC (Business Information Technology), Certified MoD IT Security Officer - various others (CV/Resume available)

In the perfect world; a Vancouver based company would at least consider me for any IT/IS related management post (whether at Project or Team Manager level). I would be grateful for any positive advice from anyone regarding my quest to seek work in the Vancouver area before I become a landed immigrant!

Thank you for at least reading this post! Regards, Andy Warren
