Hello,

I finished the ITIL foundation course in Amman Jordan. I want to carry on with the ITSM course untill I found out that the only center in Amman Jordan offers that course for 10,000$ I really want to be a red badge certified. My company is welling to send me to england to take that course if its any cheaper. Can anyone Pm me a website for an institue in London that give that course and how much does it cose. that would be super nice.

Many Thanks,

Ali

Hi Ali

go to Google.co.uk and put in "ITIL Education" complete with quotes and you will get around 200 documents to choose from.

They include, Fox-IT, Getronics, Axios, Just-IT, etc. etc. etc. Take your pick - I used Getronics, and I am happy to recommend them.

Current prices are 1195 for each 5 day course + 125 for the revision day + 2 x 140 for the exams - total of 2795 as at 11 August 2007 - see their website - getronics<.>co<.>uk and look for the Education link

Regards

Ed

The Blue badge is for the Practitioner qualifications in individual, or clustered disciplines. They are if you want to specialise in just 1 or 2 areas, but you can go direct to red badge. The red badge will end at the end of 2008, so you need to organise it soon, as taking it takes about 3 months (courses, studying and exams) and you may need to resit 1 or both papers.

Hi,

I have one more question. I have E-mailed getronics. They said that the pre requists for taking the ITSM is the ITILF which I alredy have + 5 years of experience in IT enviroment. I only have 3 years of work experience. Can university be considered as It enviroment experience?

Many thanks,

Ali Makahleh

Ali

No-one is going to ask you to 'prove' that you have 5 years experience, I have seen youngsters with no experience other than university sit the exam. It makes it easier if you have the experience as you then have something to relate to. This is true of all the exams, not just the Managers.
The requirement is just for your benefit.

It will be replaced by the new V3 qualifications - all multiple choice, (some "complex" multiple choice with wrong, partly right, better and best answers, with 0,1,2,3 marks respectively). You will need to gather the necessary credits from V3 exams, and/or V2/V3Bridging qualifications to achieve ITIL expert status. Whether this will have the respect the red badge has remains to be seen. At the moment, the quickest/cheapest, but not necessarily the easiest route to expert is to take V2 Foundation, managers, and V2/V3 Managers bridge. See the APMG website for details
