I'm implementing a CMDB ... I am thinking about the following modelization matter :
All the classes I need, exist in the BMC model. But I need to add attributes and relationships to some classes.
In my point of view, it is "more clean" to create subclasses and then change these ones rather changing the BMC classes.
But I know that it can increase performance cost...
On another hand, what about the migration. If I change the BMC classes themselves, do the changes be migrated in the future without problem ??..
To summarize : what is the best thing to do (regarding performance, maintenance, migration, ...)when we need to
Change BMC classes, do we have to derive and then change or change directly the BMC classes ?

ilndje,
this is a very app-specific question.
I recommend you subscribe to the AR Discussion list.

It's a fantastic independent user group list for Remedy. I was on it for a few years. It's extremely active and the folk are really friendly and reday to give answers to questions just like this.
