Hi,
I work as a business analyst for a software firm.have heard of ITIl in the past and the intensity's increased in the recent past.So I was wondering if i could/should get myself certified in ITIL. I do not have a strong technical back ground , though deal with technology on a daily basis. Also plan to persue my MBA in 2 years

Can someone guide on this please.
Is it worth investing (time) , money's paid by the company

Go for it. ITIL is big, and will be bigger.

Like any other certification, it is a benefit to have ITIL Certification. We are actually using ITIL methodologies in our other service departments like HR and they are getting interested in what it stands for regarding service.

I wouldn't say you have to be technical to use ITIL and fortunately you can using it in all areas of the business.

If you need confirmation of the value of ITIL, run a keyword search on some ITC job sites using ITIL as the keyword. It's amazing the number of jobs that are returned, with many only requiring the ITIL Foundations course.

I'd recommend completing the ITIL Foundations course (2-3 days) as it gives you a good overview of the whole of ITIL and you end up with an internationally recognised qualification.
