|
|
Hi Everyone,
I've been working with ITIL over the past 4 years (including 3 implementations) and crazy as it sounds I have no certification whatsoever. I am heavily versed in all the terminology and particularly strong in Service Support.
I would like to get foundation certification but I do not want to spend the money to sit through a course which I am sure would be old stuff for me. Unfortunately all of the sites I have gone to for certification always talk about the training course first AND THEN they give you the exam. Is it possible to just pay for the exam (thus saving a little money)???
All thoughts would be appreciated on this. |

You can sit the Foundation exam without attending a course. You need to apply to sit it at a Pearson or Pro-metric centre. You DO need to attend a recognised course for the Practitioner or Managers exams. _________________ Liz Gallacher,

Thanks! That was a quick reply. I'll cross the Practitioner/Manager exam bridge when I come to it |

| Though you familier with ITIL stuff. would advise you to practise sample questions as part of your self study before attending the actual exam. |

You can do, but, be careful of questions you find on the internet, because they are sometimes incorrect. Better to read about ITIL first instead. i recommend Foundations of service management ISBN: 9077212582. _________________ Liz Gallacher,

As opposed to IT Service Management Foundations: ITIL Study Guide (ISBN 0977146901)? I'm just curious.... |

Had a look - its not one I have seen, and it looks OK - but I still would recommend the other one. _________________ Liz Gallacher,

| I actually went ahead and ordered the one you suggested, I was just wondering if the other one I ran across was any good. Thanks! |
