Dear colleagues,
I have two question about the Practitioner and Service Manager Certificate,
1. Is it right that Service Management Certification requires either a) Service Support or b) Service Delivery examination?
2. For Practioner Certification, does one have to choose an exman in one of the 9 topics (Incident, Problem, Change, Configuration..... Management) or has to take all the exmas to be certified as a practioner.
To obtain Managers/Masters certification you must complete 2 x 3 hours exams. One exam will be on Service Support the other on Service Delivery, these are usually taken on 2 separate days (usually immediately following each other) as they have to be handwritten.
You can obtain either a fail, pass or distinction in the Managers exam. However to obtain a distinction you must get a score of 65 or over in both exams on the same sitting - if you score over 65 in one but under in the other you don't get the distinction mark.
Even if you retake the exam you scored under 65 in (or failed) and score over 65 you still won't get a distinction as they were not obtained at the same time. The pass mark is 50 points in each exam.
I don't know much about the Practioners exams other than that they are also handwritten.
These are the level between the Foundation and Managers and focus on a given topic rather than all disciplines - eg. Incident and Problem Management. These exams are much more practical if you are looking to obtain certification in your given work area, as they focus more indepth on that subject.
