ITIL :: View topic - Capacity Planning Manager Role
Posted: Sun Aug 20, 2006 10:24 pm Post subject: Capacity Planning Manager Role
Hi Everyone
Has anyone have a specification on the above role. I am trying to learn as much as I can about this topic in preparation for an interview. So far I have been following the ITIL's recommendations for Capacity Management and how this role fits with CDB and CMDB and other ITIL processes. If anyone has a plan/roadmap they would share with me, I will be very greatful. I am particularly interested in banking environment.
One of the most important activity for the Capacity manager is to be able to competently bring out the Capacity plan. This is a plan, which includes the entire IT organizations, capacity overview and the recommendations for the future.
Some of the other things, done by the capacity manager are to coordinate to build the Capacity data base. This could be a coordination role of gathering the right data and reporting.
