ITIL Examination

Hi

I do have 11 years of exp in IT industry, Would like to take up the ITIL certification path. Since I am an CCNP, CCSP.

I need to know the exact path for the certification

ex: For CCIE --> the path is CCNA--> CCNP--> CCIE

Similarly what the path for the same

Can some one explain it clearly.

Currently the examination boards are EXIN and ISEB (APMG were just awarded the new accreditation contract for ITIL so this may or may not change next year) .

The certification path is one of:

ITIL Foundation
ITIL Foundation > Practitionar (in a specific process or group of processes)
ITIL Foundation > Manager
ITIL Foundation > Practitionar > Manager

(Note: In the US they call the Manager certification a Masters)

From the above you can see that the Foundation is a pre-requisite to all else.

Also: the foundation course will mainly give you definitions and a general overview of ITIL (some people call it the 'theoretical part', but it is a mistake to call anything about ITIL 'theory'.

the practitioner courses will get you up to speed with one process, where you will receive a lot of hands on training and role playing on a particular process.

The service management course will deal with implementing ITIL.

This is great, I wonder if my employer will pay for me to go to London for the test....

Does anyone know of any accredited ITIL Examiners in the USA?
