Hi there,

Does anyone know if ITIL has a definition of the CIO role? Or if not does anyone have a definition of the role to include such things as responsibities, objectives, and personal attributes required from someone in the role?

It's not ITIL, but you can download a copy of the CIO Executive Council's IT Value matrix (click here) which includes a CIO role definition together with areas that a CIO would need to cover as part of their role (or make sure are covered by their staff).

If you are looking to create a Job Description and Person Spec for a CIO you may want to check out some recruitment sites to see what other people include in theirs.
