Software License Tracking tool

Is there a decent Software Tracking Tool that is ITIL compliant?
I have Remedy and Altiris for Ticket logging and tracking what is definitely on our machines, but I am looking for a tool that will record what I THINK I have regarding software. One that I can maybe record different departments or teams against?

First there is really no such thing as ITIL compliant for anything other than for people/departments/organizations.

ITIL is a people/process set of best practices.

Sorry to be pendantic

As to software tracking, what do you mean ?

Do you mean - tracking the # of installed software on devices such as servers, workstation and the licensing associated with

Do you mean patch management for operating systems, applications and the like

Do you mean just license management

and lastly

Does your organization have even an inkling of a CMDB ?

From your description it looks our EnterpriseEM tool may be what you are looking for.
