Nick,

ITIL doesn't do anything with procurement. Have you heard of ISPL (Information Services Procurement Library). I'm not sure whether this is what you are looking for, it realy focusses on outsourcing as I know it.

I read somewhere about ITIL Procurement .... not sure wether ITIL as documeneted the best implemented procurement policies...

Could anyone... provide me insight on Procuremenet .... i mean the best practises..

As others, I have not heard anything specific about ITIL covering procurement, but in its simplest form it can be treated as a "service request" in the standard incident management cycle.

A simple call flow and service request form can be developed to provide accuracy of information and to set realistic timelines?

If their is an internal mechanism to get "financial signoff" eg raising a PO this needs to be factored in and a "clock stop" considered if you are going to create an SLA around the whole process
