Hi there,
did anybody mastered ITIL v3 deep enough to be able to explain major difference between Change and Demand Management. In v2, "change" is defined as any change on CI's, so in general, if someone (in i.e. sales dept.) needs to make some modification in some service (i.e. add new functionality), he or she will submit RfC and then... by the process until implementation and PIR. But what is then Demand Management for? I found definitions defining "demand" as set of "strategic, tactical and operational" demands, meaning also - new functionalities on services(?). So, did v3 narrowed the scope of Change Management or entered something new? What would be then a process if someone has a "demand"... when demands became changes (they have to, otherwise they can not be introduced to environment, right?).
