Hi every body.
I am new to ITIL and to this forum. I am asked to write specifications to call a tender for procument of Help Desk and network Management software for our network. Please give some guide lines or URLs.

I got given this job a couple of years ago! What a pain!

My Request For Information (Invitation To Tender) contained the following sections

1. Introduction
1.1. Contents
1.2. Purpose
1.3. Confidentiality
1.4. Vendor Responsibility
1.5. Mycompany Overview


2. Project Overview
2.1. Project Definition Statement
2.2. Project Aims
2.3. Scope of Project
2.4. Objective of the Project


3. Current System Overview
3.1. Description of the Current Process
3.2. Proposed System Requirements


4. Detailed System Requirements
4.1. Configuration Management Requirements
4.2. Change Management Requirements
4.3. General Requirements


5. Detailed Product and Supplier Information
5.1. Proposed Solution
5.2. Company Details
5.3. Support
5.4. Training
5.5. References
5.6. Upgrades


6. Evaluation and Response
6.1. Evaluation of Responses
6.2. Format of Response
6.3. Time-scales


I was looking for software that would give us a starting point for ITSM. hence the references to only Config & Change in section 4. You can expand this to suit.

I spoke to our Sales guys at the time and they gave me a selection of RFIs that had come in for me to see how other people build their documents. This was very helpful, as it gave a good idea of where to start

I hope this helps somewhat
