V2 or V3

hello everyone,

I am totally aware of the differences between the ITIL V2 and V3 , i lately decided to apply for the foundation exam, i need an advice regarding the exam: I already started to study the material of V2 few days ago since i have the material but have nothing for V3, should i apply for V2 and then bridge to V3 or look for a V3 cource and apply for its exam?

The decision to go for V2 or V3 foundation can only be made by yourself.
The choice you make will depend upon your own longer term career aims, and how much training you can afford in time/money.

All of the material in V2 foundation is in V3 foundation- its just been re-hashed around a bit etc ..

You could get V2 foundation and then take a V3 bridging foundation course or just go straight into the V3 foundation first. IF you wanted to do a practitioner V2 exam in any of the processes you must have the V2 foundation exam first - the V3 practitioner exams dont even exist yet. Once V3 has truly kicked in, the V2 certifications are still worth having for lots of reasons, they will still be recognised etc ..

Personally, I did the V2 foundation first and have just done the Release & Control 5-day Practitioner course & exam. I will probably take the V3 foundation next year and then see if the V3 practitioner certifications are then available. I can't tell you what to do just advise you, the decision on what path you take is in your hands.
