Hello people,
I'm the newest member to this community I believe. Very Happy
Well to tell about myself, I have been in IT field for past 4 years and been in Service Management area for past 6 months. I liked this field and would like to grow in this. Cool
Now I came to know that first step is to take the ITIL foundation certification and I started searching the net for the same. I found that now there is a new foundation course for ITIL v3. Now am confused which one to take. Question
EXIN web site says "While version 2 is primarily geared towards the description and control of processes which is currently a major requirement in the majority of IT organizations version 3 focuses on the results that can be achieved when the processes are ready (the services). Only a handful of organizations have reached this level of maturity. Consequently, exam candidates can continue to sit the current v2 until the end of 2008"
So should I go for the latest version v3 or go by what EXIN says and go for v2? Rolling Eyes And if I go for v2, till when is that valid?
Also in future I might go for HPO-286 SC 6.x Certification, for which the pre-requisite is to complete ITIL Foundation Certification. Now I am just hoping that they mean any of the foundation certificate from v2 and v3.
If someone has more clarity on this, please enlighten me. Idea
Thanks
Surya
