Hello all

Would greatly appreciate any advice you can give.

Looking for some pointers from the more experienced posters regarding making the leap from a second/third level tech support role into a more ITIL based one.

I don't really have any ITIL experience but have over 10 years IT experience working in various support functions with my current role being, for all intents and purposes, a hands-on IT Mngr one.

It has been suggested that a viable path would be to gain the Foundation certificate and to then aim for an Incident or Problem Mngrs role.

Just wondered if this sounds feasible and if anyone on here has been in a similar situation and can profer any sage advice.

Kind regards.

Please look to the advice I give in the other forums

1 - get the foundation certificate now !! Course and exam 3 days out of your life

2 - If you are in IT support.. you are doing ITIL..

incident mgmt = service desk or Nth Line support .. it is still incident mgmt
if you are trying to restore service to what it was

problem mgmt if you are trying to figure out why the service went out.. but you are not hounded with... is it fixed yet .. every __ duration
