Is the ISO 20000 course to be refreshed in the light of ITIL V3 coming 'on stream'?
Any ISO20000 course must be aligned to the standard, completely disregarding ITIL.
While it will undoubtedly change over time, it is unlikely to track new ITIL versions deliberately. It is concerned with standards not guidance.
The major changes in ITIL v3 seem to be about strategic approaches to service management. More the "how to" than the "what to".
Although ISO20000 was derived from ITIL, it was also derived from ISO9000 and it is not ITIL.
To give a simple example of the difference between ITIL advice and ISO2000 prescription, there is no mention of a CAB in the standard. Nor should there be.
Assuming that ISO20000 is properly managed, it will change in the light of implementation and audit experience, reflecting what business requires of such a standard, and with an eye to the evolution of Quality Management standards in general. _________________ "Method goes far to prevent trouble in business: for it makes the task easy, hinders confusion, saves abundance of time, and instructs those that have business depending, both what to do and what to hope."

The FoxIT course - which I took was the itSMF certified course for ISO20000.
It taught / explained in gross details the 2 ISO 20000 sections :1 and :2
Shall and should'ed to death
I think if one looks in the 2006's threads, I posted a large amount of blah blah blah about the course _________________ John Hardesty
