I am provisionally booked on a v3 course but am now having doubts as to whether I should do a v2 one instead.
I'm new to ITIL but have over 10 years IT experience working in various support functions with my current role being, for all intents and purposes, a hands-on IT Mngr one.
The aim of pursuing the Foundation certificate is to pursue a more ITIL focussed career path of SDM or similar.
Out of the two versions, which would give me a better grounding of ITIL as well as reaching my career objective?

If you have the option, v3 is obviously the best for the future. But John is right: this is covered in detail in other threads.

I disagree that V3 is obviously the best, especially at the moment. V2 will help you in your day to day work. V3 Foundation is only intended to be an overview, and you cannot sit the later exams until they are available, which could be many months . _________________ Liz Gallacher,
