Friends,
I have recenrly completed my V3 foundation and have been looking for training centers to join the V3 lifecyel stream courses. Unfortunately, i couldn't find any institutes here in India, yet.
I would sincerely appreciate if any of you could pass on the online training courses information for this stream. I have googled enough, but no lock so far in finding any online institutes.
I understand it's no match for class-room training, but as i mentioned, i couldn't find any center here in Southern India. So, at least, i would like to try out one paper thru online training and see if am learning anything out of it. If not, obviously, i would have to wait for someone to kick start class-room training here.

I'm extremely frustrated because there is no training center in my city that provides the ITIL v3 OSA course and the exam is tied to the place where you take the course.
I was hoping to take an online course through ITSMSolutions and/or TheArtOfService but I've been told by an EXIN representative that it's not possible to schedule the exam alone.
You can clearly see the candidate's interests are not really that important to EXIN, APMG, whatever. Here in Brazil it's going to cost me R$ 5000 (course) + R$ 250 (transport) + R$ 150 (food) so I can take the course at the capital. I don't even know if the 5k includes the exam. If it doesn't, that's worse.
This whole certification scheme is proving to be a cash cow for the training centers and the certification bodies.
I am subramanian working as a operations engineer in a company called Softcrylic Technology Solutions india. My company is will for me to do the ITIL certification. Can anyone please provide me some information on how can i strat with the ITIL certification and where should i enroll for the certification and other stuffs.

Charles Sturt University is running ITIL V3 practitioner certification via distance education. It is part of a Masters degree and also a Graduate Certificate, and is also available as stand-alone subjects. Duration is 13 weeks. You don't have to live in Australia to study there. They have been doing distance education for years. I did my first IT course with them in the 1980s in the pre-historic, pre-internet days.
The days when you would write your program code on coding sheets and fax it in, and a data entry person would type it in and send you back your listing. But I digress.
I have just done Service Transition, and they also offer the Service Operation module which I plan to do in a year's time. They are also looking at offering more modules and there is talk of a Masters degree specialising in ITIL. It is only talk atm and may come to nothing.
I don't have my exam resluts yet but I do think the unit was taught really well. If I fail I may think differently but probably not. It probably would just mean I should have worked more, although I think I was very committed.
For just under 2000AUD you get the Service Transition book plus some very detailed study notes. The course co-ordinator also runs an interactive on-line session via Webex and has created an island in Second Life where students can interact and post material.
The co-ordinator has also posted some material on Youtube, More details in Related Topics of this forum.
I was very impressed with the quality of the material and the knowledge and commitment of the subject co-ordinator _________________ DYbeach
